Next Steps

Accepted Student Checklist

01 Congratulations, You're In!

Your hard work has paid off, and we could not be more excited for you! Welcome to Charger Nation!

02 Connect with Your Admissions Counselor

We are here to help answer any questions. Find your counselor’s contact information in your Accepted Student Portal, and stay in touch with us throughout the enrollment process.

03 Visit Campus

Our events occur all throughout the year – and our programs for our accepted students are some of the best! Sign up for an upcoming event by visiting newhaven.edu/visit.

04 Submit Your FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to be considered for need-based financial aid. Visit studentaid.gov to get started. Our priority deadline for submission is March 1, but we encourage you to submit your FAFSA sooner. This allows us to give you a financial aid offer faster, granting you more time to evaluate your college decision.

05 Review Your Financial Aid Offer

In addition to merit scholarships, we notify you about your financial aid offer in the early spring. Offers of financial aid are specific to each institution, so you’ll be hearing from us directly. Offers may include federal grants, institutional grants, work study, and loans.

06 Talk About Your Options with Your Family and Support System

Countless factors play into the college decision process – location, return on investment, cost of attendance, academic programs, and more.

07 Complete Your Decision Response Form

icon

Submit your Decision Response Form within your Accepted Student Portal. This step does not bind you to the University – it simply confirms your interest in attending and identifies whether you would be a residential student or commuter. You must complete this form before moving to the next step – submitting your enrollment fee and housing deposit. That will make you an official UNewHaven Charger!

08 Officially Enroll at the University of New Haven

Ready to join Charger Nation? Make your decision official by submitting your
$300 enrollment fee and $200 housing deposit (if applicable) in your Accepted Student Portal.

09 Begin Your New Student Road Map

icon

Once you’re officially a Charger, you’ll gain access to our New Student Road Map
in your Accepted Student Portal. There, you’ll find next steps for enrollment, including orientation, course registration details, housing, and much more.
